Title: Hebridean Ewes in lamb
Post by: dt400 on February 02, 2014, 07:30:25 pm
We put our 4 ewes with the Tup late November and all being well if they are in lamb, they should be due end April, Early May.

Our question is how much to feed them.  They have hay available at all times and they get 1 scoop of molassed sugerbeet between the 6 of them (2 of last years lambs who came with 2 of the ewes), 2 or 3 times a week.  Is this enough, not enough, or too much???  Any advice gratefully received as we don't want to get it wrong for them.

Cheers  :sheep: :sheep:

I'd give them no more than that and ideally split it so they have  a little bit every day just to keep them tame, rather than more two or three times a week. But if they have a mineral lick, hay is probably all they actually need.
