Just a cross post to highlight 2 events being run in February by the Newburgh Orchard Group - I posted under events but then realised I don't often go and look in that forum so thought belts and braces approach might be appropriate!
I will be attending both, and tho each is only 2 hours if anyone is wanting to travel further than a daytrip I have a spare room if you don't mind slumming it a little or I can find details of local B&Bs if required.
Winter pruning 9 Feb, Newburgh, Fife 1pm start
Apple grafting 16 Feb, Auchtermuchty, Fife booking afternoon but morning event may be added if demand is high enough to fill that one.

I'll be there, Ellie, can you book me in or do I have to contact them direct - need contact details if so - but how much is it?
-
Do you want both Annie? I have mentioned you to Gerben the NOG secretary and he's keeping you a place. Grafting one is £10, not sure about the pruning but last one I went to was about a fiver and the higher fee for the grafting includes the two trees you "make" and take home which would cost you £12+ to purchase each otherwise.

Ah just had a thought - is it Sunday 9th? If so I don't think I can come, my cousin is having a family lunch, I'll see her tomorrow so will let you know

9 is pruning, 16 is grafting. The full details are in the events section as far as I have them so far..

Just a wee reminder and update.
The winter pruning event is 1pm this Sunday 9th and is free of charge but bring your own secateurs (cleaned) if possible as spares are limited. Both Doganjo and I plan to be there.
Sunday 16th is grafting of apple trees at Auchtermuchty from 2-4pm, cost of £10 includes 2 apple trees you graft yourself and take home from either your own or the trainer's available stock. Anyone with spare scions of heritage varieties is invited to bring them along and share. If overbooked, a second event will be arranged for the morning of the same day. Hot drinks and home baking provided at this one. I will be there on my own this time but happy to meet up with anyone interested.

Really looking forward to this! My trees are badly needing correct pruning! :-[

If anyone is going to Muchty on Sunday for grafting, please note the Den of Lindores to Muchty road is currently closed due to flooding I think, diversions come through Lindores village and down the lochside road back to the A91 at Collessie.
Please check routes as from Perth/Bridge of Earn it would be easier to go up to the Beinn Inn and over to Gateside if still closed over the weekend.
..and if anyone is coming through Lindores and could give me a lift I'd be delighted ;)
