Greetings from Nova Scotia. I'm new to the forum, and I tend to read more than post, so you probably won't notice me unless I have a problem or feel that my input is pertinent. I own a house and 2.5 acres of land. My wife and I have two dogs, two cats, 12 chickens, 3 hogs, and every Spring when the grass starts to grow we also raise some geese. In the four years since I've owned the place, I've cleared a lot of trees and underbrush, but there's still quite a few to go. My goal is to produce most of the food we eat through gardening, livestock, fishing, and some hunting. My projects this year are continuing to plant grapes, propagating my current bushes, and growing an ever-better, and ever-bigger, garden.

Thanks for all the friendly welcomes :) Kelly58, I'm quite familiar with the attempted colonization at Port Royal (what's known about it). I'm actually doing a course on Scottish Migration, and I'm learning a ton. Especially about life in the Hebrides. It's always interesting to hear my friends from Cape Breton using Scottish words.
