Just getting my Tesco stuff delivered and someone came to the door with a Chicken, I culd see it wasn't mine and it's not my neighbours so who' dose it belong to? I am in Clackmannan and not sure who else even has a garden nearby????
-
Maybe it escaped the Tesco van after seeing Hugh's chicken run ? ;)
I'd ask your local postman - they know everything, he might just know who's it is or at least be able to put the word out.
Good luck Sandy, and if you don't find the owner you might just have to get used to an eggstra egg every day ;D ;D
-
What kind is it? Let's have a photo then
-
It's an ex bat but paler than mine, it's not the one that ate eggs is it?

My OH had me hunting for a lost chicken tonight - not mine, but it belongs to the farm where he works. Thats an ex battery hen!! I don't think its walked all the way from Derbyshire though.
Perhaps it fell off the back of a lorry? Maybe they were being moved and it escaped .....
-
She was being picked on a bit, I wounder where she went to sleep? I hope she did fal from a lorry, she is very friendly""""
-
Well, if it was the one eating eggs she has come quite a distance - about 10 miles I think as I gave her to QWOLF. He was going to sort her out with mustard flavoured eggs.(http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Confused/dazed-2.png)

Looks like one of mine....just trying to work out how it got all the way there from Stafford! So many roads to cross...then that's chickens for ya!
Farmer
:farmer:
Hope you find its owner...but if not I'm sure she has found a good home.
-
I belive their to be a poultry farm in HelenField (just down the road) so maybe she did a chicken run for it. lol
-
Poor thing is being told off a lot, hope she is not going to eat the eggs!!!! I wounder if she has walked 10 miles, Proclamers walked a lot further ;D I was too busy when the girl gave me the chicken to ask where it was when she found it, she just said it was walking on the road, anyone wants her can come and get her, she may of course have flown ;D ;D ;D
-
See Linz, TV dose have lot's of influence, she probably escaped from the CHicken Pie machine ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
She's been an EX batt for a while though as her comb is quite red, so I think someone may be missing her. But I have all of mine here - just counted them. ASk the girls in teh Co-op if they know of anyone who has hens.
-
I agree, too healthy lloking to have just been released or escaped.....
-
Are you going to keep her? went to car boot sale but although plenty of cars very few buyers only made £23
-
We were given Gordon by a friend as he had wandered into her garden and she couldn't find an owner. She kept him in a rabbit run for a few weeks whilst she tried to find out who he belonged to and then he eventually came to us.
I'd keep hunting for her owener and in the mean she may mix into your group and be an added bonus for you.
-
I will put a notice in our window and see who comes to ask about her!!!!!! I wounder if she will lay???
-
Maybe she's a free spirit and will stay for a while then pack her bags and travel on to pastures new!
-
She was trying to get out but it will be very difficlut, 7ft stone wall with a garden gate leading into our flower garden then another gate into a yard surrounded by 7ft wall and 2 loose Labradors, if she can get through all that she is a Super Chicken!!!!!!!
-
OH MY...that's my hen!!!! When she got mad at me last week for taking the egg out from under her, I noticed she was starting to pack her little flight bag and check her passport. Should have known the little broody b--ch was up to something! :o ::) Good riddance! :chook: :D
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
If you send me your adress, I will look fo a big enough envelope and post her on ;) ;)
-
If you do that she'll only leave again - you can't stop a free spirit!
-
Our cockerel ,Lenin came to us like that... the neighbours were crating up birds for market, he thought " sod that" and flew rather wobbily over to us! he hung around all weekend, wouldnt let us near, so we shut our girls out & out food near the shed door, crept up and shut him in (squawk!) Neighbour said if you can catch him, keep him so we did!
Took a while to settle in and isnt top of the pecking order, but he is slightly tamer now!
Born free..... til somebody caught me!
-
:) :) :)
-
She certaily follows me and the others are getting better with her, I have put a post in my window and I keep seeing people read it and smile :D
-
Well I think you've done as much as you can. For now on I would just enjoy her company and not worry too much.
-
I've been really busy with visitors last few days - and till middle of next week too, but I'll come up and see her sometime after that
-
I've been busy with the cooker and the painters etc etc, have a Landrover to use but not been out in it!!!!
-
Where would you want it go that your little car can't go?
-
Morning!!!! Anywhere, just for a drive :D
-
I wouldn't bother - costs an am and a leg in fuel.
-
Do you still have your stray Sandy?
-
Yes I do, she is bottom of the pecking order but doing OK, Bless her, not sure where she sleeps!!
