Dunblane tomorrow, Saturday - at the games field- go past Uni, take left at first roundabout in Dunblane (Keir Street) then left again. 10am to 3pm I think. You don't want to buy more stuff - you've just de cluttered! ;D ;D ;D
-
Why was the date changed?
-
Three reasons really
1. I wanted to catch as many people as poss - and some of you are busy on Saturdays
2. It is Happy Hippys Party - so we can all say happy birthday in here and have a party too (http://smileyicons.net/s/710.gif)
3. The date suits me better too and I can be here around midnight to tell you what it was all for
SO please come in here and say hello or happy birthday at anytime that suits you on Wednesday next
Thankyou all so much

3 DAYs - how did the car boot go guys - buy anything good?
-
I took only my car fee of £10 with me, no intention of buying an more rubbish than I have already, got my son-in-law to buy me a bacon roll (well his kids ate my sandwiches and ginger nuts so only fair ;D) and made £23.30 so had a net profit of £13.30 - not many people there, posh area, cold and wet! My grandchildren made a wee den in the back of my car - a VERY versatile Zafira! But their Church won out - about 90 cars at a tenner each and nothing to pay for except mowing the perimeter grass.
-
At least you made something
It was cold and wet here all day too - now its very windy forecast bad for week :-[ :gloomy:
-
Good going on the profit! I would think I could enjoy a little cold and damp about now. Today I mowed grass for about 6 hours in the hot 85 degree sun and now i have a screaming sun burn to show for it! :dunce:
-
We are all Sooooooooooo jealous
Sunburn = sunshine - which we do not get enough of these days ;D ;D ;D

-
Ok
Thank you all for logging in and saying hello.
Want to ask you all a question - this will/may give you a clue as to what I was trying to achieve today.
Question:-
What was so important on the 29th February 2008, that made 79 people log into TAS?
Was it:-
To propose to someone seeing as though it was a leapyear date?
To attend a meeting that someone had set up here?
A computer blip, and it just thought everyone logged on cause it got an extra day in the year?
For another reason that I have not thought of?
I have read posts of that day, on several big users, and most of them didn't even log in that day.
It intrigues me to know why, on a leap year day, over a year ago, we had the most users on line.
Anyone shed a LIGHT on it ???
-
pass
-
Is this going to get mystical?
looking forward to the great unveiling.
-
I'm totally confused!!!!!!! :dunce: :dunce:
-
Do you know, I've often looked at that 79 figure and thought it odd. The next highest must be 40 ish. I think we should ask the webmaster.
42
-
This meeting here, has made todays 45
I was rather hoping we would get more than 79.
We have actually had throughout the day so far something in the region of 77 Users Log into TAS, but not all at the same time????
??? :o ::) ??? ;D
-
Especialy at that time in the early hours, I recon the webmaster was doing some maintainance and kept loggin on as different people, going through all those who were registered, not sure I was around then, I shall check!! ??? ???
-
No, I signed in Aug 2008
-
Yes, it was early in the morning - Doganjo didn't log in, and a lot of the other regulars were not
members then, I wonder if it was Dan?
Maybe someone made up loadsa users to propose to someone???
Its weird, strange day, within 20 minutes 79 users ????
-
My guests please log in message today has at least brought us in a few
new members, I havent been logged in all day, but have seen four new members names so far.
-
When did dan or rosemarry post about that hot chick looking for love ? Did dan mention lots of people logging in? Or was it a 'babe' i can remember
-
Whats that? Tell me more ;D ;D ;D
-
Dan couldn't walk the dogs that day cause it was raining cats and dogs ;D :D
Rosemary had sheep and sheep poo on the lawn - but no other clues about anything spesh that day ???
-
Well i was talking about the 'new' garden and knitting socks so they aren't that interesting
Linz
-
It must have been the Fairies, Leprechauns and Angels having fun
with those Unicorns ;D
-
btw i think that vickylouxx is one of the northanly person in the uk on the forum not sure about all of the forum
-
Oh and littlepigfarm and Tudful Tamworths are having fun in the north sea lol
-
Is that where they have put their markers?
-
I bet they didnt realise that you can zoom in and actually put
the marker almost on your street - they probably guessed
roughly where they are from the smallest map available.
They can go back in and change it though, i think.
-
Ha Ha - see what you mean now - and Catomel is swimming the English Channel ;D
-
(http://smileyicons.net/s/318.gif)
-
Bonjour , came to see here ;)
-
hiya piglet
If your worried about security you can move the markers which i have done so it not really on my location but i the right direction.
Linz
-
Oh and kevmurphy is in the irish sea i think lol (am realy using my geography now lol)
-
42 minutes to go...................... AND COUNTING! I'm staying up till midnight!
-
ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz hhmmmm zzzzzzzzzz...............don't think I'll see midnight. ::)
-
congratulations AengusOg :bouquet:
You are the 100th person to view this thread ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Can't make you wait any longer - time for bed and I don't think that another 21 minutes is going to make a difference.
If it does I will wake you and tell you ;D ;D ;D
Well - You are all going to be soooooo disappointed…
Here Goes
Its all to do with statistics - and if you can change them. :o
The most people logged on ever was 79 on the 29th February 2008 at 12.19.14am ::) ???
That means that 79 people all logged on at the same time.
Now I personally think that this is a Computer Error. ;D
Today, thank you all, 82 of you logged on to TAS.
That didn’t change the statistic to 82, I am guessing that this is because we didn’t all log on at the same time.
45 of us logged on at the same time - more than we get most days, the average recently has been between 28 and 34. ;)
The same 30 people keep this site going, by logging in every day at least once, and posting or replying to posts, and greeting new members. ;D ;D
Well Done to you all - I won’t name you, but I am sure you all know who you are.
We got this thread into the top ten topics with viewings of 99 or more. :bouquet:
I will not know until midnight (if the figures change then) what the new members changed to, but my post asking for new members to stop being guests and register achieved 4 new members that I noticed today.
A lot of users log in more that twice a day, and never post anything. :(
At 23.27 this thread had been viewed 896 times and had 99 replies. These figures make me believe that the 79 people on the 29th February has to be
A computer error.
If you have more than one user logging in from one computer - only the first user registered will display as a user. Ones made after that will not be displayed by name. :pig:
I have only been viewing TAS for four months, but today I saw that a lot of users logged in, who must usually just view as guests as I have 13 users that I have never seen the names of before.
A lot of you may find this boring, but I found it a very interesting exercise and would like to thank you all for taking part.
The FBI, are not involved, nor are the time and motion people, or the Government, just a student studying statistics and how to change them.
Night Night, Sweet Dreams and thanks again - You are all wonderful
-
OH MY GOD - The number of views just went to 911
on the 09.09.09
Night Night ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Did you work all of this out by hand or did you use a stats programme? We have one of these checking the stats daily on our Club website www.brittanyclub.co.uk My own website has them too - www.aberdon.org.uk - ignore the content of my website - long overdue an overhaul. Fascinating information though and I agree the figure for 29th Feb must be an error.
-
I did it all my writing down the changes as I saw them happen.
There is a stats program on this site, you can view it at the bottom of the index page.
It doesnt tell you all the information that I have.
It doesnt say that 82 people logged in today, that is the number I wrote down by name, and checked so as not to duplicate any, as people often log in more than once.
It doesnt tell you how many new members we got today, I saw 4 being created, or first posting, so wrote their names down, as part of the exercise.
It was interesting, and it will be even more interesting if Dan or Rosemary can give us any more information.
Thanks again for your help ;)
-
hiya snoopy i had to leave at 11.00 my eyes where nolonger opening without the aid of a match stick, If you look on the members list you'll see that only 3 people created an account yesterday
sharpshot, Piglet, JanceSeptember.
Not a fan of Statistics here you'll understand it if you had nothing but statistics (SAAD) for about 3 months from a lecture who was obsessed by it (it just doesn't push my buttons)
But i do love social experiments that, do to envoc users to respond
btw i uses thoses horible statistics prog for all the websites i look after :)
Statistics are like a drunk with a lampost: used more for support than illumination. churchill
There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics:Disraeli
-
i am sooooooooooooooo sleepy today!!! stayed up for a while as I thought it may be Tullywood farm!!!!! anyway, interesting although I sometimes leave myself logged in and go off to do something, I'm like that, so a bit, have a look, have a tea or coffee then get back to the job!!!!! Stats are interesting!!
-
Sandy, it wouldn't have been Tullywood Farm - Julie is already back.
-
Yes, they are when used in the right way. Other times they can be a right pain, for example the report that said every other school child is too fat (sorry, I exaggerate, but can't remember the exact figure) which has resulted in vast quantities of leaflets from school re diets, and bans on various food stuffs in lunch boxes - at risk of confiscation if found! Seems they get lectured at school as well, to the extent my 8 year old stick insect daughter came home and told me she couldn't have full fat milk because of the fat content. (Got to admit had it been crisps I might have been a bit more sympathetic). Anyway, when I look round the playground, I don't see hundreds of overweight children - one or two maybe but mostly not - I'm not exactly unique in having a slim child. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that we need to be a bit more careful how we apply our stats. I guess most of us have benefitted from the nutritional information though!
-
lol to stupid schools and there food policy, My step daughter went to weight watcher (to keep her mum company who is 5foot nothing in height and 5ft round) and was told step daughter needed to lose weight 2 stone.
she is 5ft 7 and weighted 11 stone !!! so much so she has a food issue now. Now i know am surrposes to be 12 stone and i am 5foot 8/9 pre-baby that is
where do the get these ideas and strick rules from statistics !!!
-
Could see my daughter getting a food issue too, and wasn't best impressed. However, have given her a lecture to inform her that children do actually need some fat to develop properly. Which will probably result in her pigging out for the rest of her childhood and need weight-watchers. Not easy being a parent, you know!!
Much better to be healthy than thin, I think. I wonder if it does the kids much good at the end of the day. Its ok telling them what they should be eating, but unless the parents are willing to change surely nothing much will change. And I can just imagine what my parents would have said if I'd returned home to tell them what I was and wasn't going to eat...
Sure its all part of institutions wanting to micromanage every part of your life
-
IMO kids, especially need a wee bit of a reserve to fall back on when they get ill.
My kids aren't 'fat' but they are all well made and tall for their age - my 6 year old is the height of most 9 or 10 year olds, but according to the school nurse she's too heavy for her age ??? I get REALLY mad about that >:( Food issues ahoy !
-
I gave my daughter a row yesterday because she had mentioned to Beth that she had a bit of a tummy - some weeks ago now. When Beth came to sty with me for a few days she kept looking in the mirror and saying she had a fat tummy. I tried to reassure her but Sarah really has to try to get this notion out of Beth's head. Sarah said, don't worry she won't go anorexic, she likes her food too much - but that doesn't necessarily follow - she might become bulimic! Her dad is a GP too, they ought to know better.
-
My daughter still has problems since when 11, a science class weighed them all and she was a little over the average and in the red zone, she also had larger boobs than the other girls so she also felt fat, since then she has been Bulimic, she is now 30!!!!!
-
Its not just girls - my 7 year old son who doesn't haven't an ounce of fat on him, you can see his chest ribs, worries about being fat! However, he is in a class of 30 and there are 3 overweight boys and 1 overweight girl so I think there is alot of talk in his classroom.
