Title: Home made hog roast - Channel 4
Post by: Tudful Tamworths on January 17, 2014, 10:09:50 pm
Did anyone see Jamie Oliver/Jimmy Docherty in Friday Night Feast? Jimmy made a hog roaster. Hoped the plans might be on the Ch 4 web page, but maybe they're saving it up for a book.

Has anyone done anything similar, using heat above the pig rather than below?

never done anything like it but i watched the programme last night. it looked pretty straightforward and that pork looked divine! I wouldnt mind something like that on a smaller scale, as an alternative to a BBQ maybe. I don't have enough mouths to feed to do a whole hog!

A friend of mine made one up using a half oil drum and the electric motor from his cement mixer that he borrowed temporarily. It turned fine, if not a little quickly.
