Title: Heard on TV Today
Post by: sabrina on January 16, 2014, 07:27:57 pm
Do you know that if you are bigger than a size 12 you are now a Plus size. Excuse me while I go and cry

Does that make me plus 2? :roflanim: :roflanim:
My friend's grand-daughter is dying through anorexia, so cherish those extra pounds.

Hmm given the AVERAGE women's size is a 16, what exactly is plus about size 12......?

That is ridiculous. It does mean though that I will never be less than a plus size so I might as well give up trying.  :excited:

Oh, loves - who cares ? ?  ? ? ?  You're the same as you were yesterday, some twonk has just put a label on it.  And I've just labelled them ;)

When you're looking back on your life, which do you think you'll regret the most:

Life's short, labels are just that.  Live life, cut the labels out.

Wise words  :)

I can't see the labels when they're tucked in so I don't care. I'm me. Take me as I am or not at all.

One thing I did realise many years ago is if you don't have the looks/figure in the first place you don't have to worry about losing them.

I bought some size 14 leggings from ebay few weeks back, didn't realise one of the stickers was stuck to my thigh.....i walked round with a 'XL' sticker all day  >:(  no wonder we get complexes about size.
My 12 year old is already showing signs of falling for media tripe - she's spot on size for her age but worrying. Hopefully the firm words I've had with her have reassured her.
on the other hand, my 9 yr old is now into age 13-14 clothes and bullied for being fat.

What a load of tosh - can't really say much more than that.

None of your daughters is fat. I'm surprised she is in that size clothes but they all vary so much. I went into New Look in December to buy a onesie for my granddaughter who is size 12 (at age 12) and was told she would need medium as large is size 14-16. I have clothes that are large and fit 16-18. One the other hand, my youngest granddaughter, who is just two, wears some clothes that are aged 12-18 months and some that are 18-24 months (Ok she is quite small but that is a difference in size). There seems to be no standardisation in clothes sizes.

Ridiculous,

My sister was always a "larger" size.
Still stunning and one of the nicest people you can meet.

On a slight aside: I am not sure about clothes but I know there is no standardisation for shoe sizes here in the UK. Which is bloody ridiculous. Each manufacturer can choose what their size 9s actually are.

Which explains why I have shoes from 7-11 in size!
