Our not very old washing machine has decided to give up the ghost. Been hand washing, and taking to the launderette, as cannot afford a new machine.
Husbands boss arrived at work, and was trying to put a washing machine in the scrap skip. Husband enquired as to the state of the machine. "Oh its fine, wife's bought a new one!" So .....yes, husband arrived home with the Ariston machine last night. It dries as well, but I prefer to hang my washing out (although not with all this rain - hanging on the maiden).
Chuffed to bits I am!! Although getting it from our pick up to the house,(past 4 other cottages) on a sacktruck was daunting .....it weighed a ton. But its in the outside utility now awaiting plumbing in.

Wow, who on earth gets a new washing machine when their old one isn't actually broken!? How the other half live eh? :D

A friend of mine works as a removal man - you'd be surprised how much stuff gets thrown away when people move house. My mum has a second hand freezer from him - absolutely nothing wrong with it!
Also - good luck with your "new" Ariston - mine is 17 years old and still going like a trooper!

Well done. I'm all in favour of recycling.

Wow, it always feels fab when an expense you thought you'd have is saved.
I got my first thing from freecycle this week, a set of metal garage shelves... I was well pleased.
