Title: Poultry Wormer

Just thought I would ask.

Until now we have been getting ready mixed poultry feed with Flubenvet while my husband is out and about. Now he is not travelling that kind of distance to collect we need to think of a cost effective way of getting it.

Does any one have any suggestions of a cost effective way of getting the feed or wormer for over 300 birds?

Marriages, who make the layer pellets with Flubenvet, deliver palletloads. Prices are quite reasonable, especially if you take into account your time and fuel to collect. They'll do mixed tonne pallets, so you can get layer pellets, corn, oystershell, grower pellets, sheep feed, pig feed  whatever, so long as it's a tonne weight total.

I've noticed most of the suppliers of the Marriages stuff want to call you and say the wormer feed is only for domestic use etc. etc. Can you buy it by the pallet load?

Because flubenvet is a POM they have to contact you and take your details. They can't just sell it online no questions asked. Try www.farmandpetplace.co.uk (http://www.farmandpetplace.co.uk) they deliver by courier might be worth ringing them and asking for a bit of discount if you're buying a lot.

Thank you all. I think I will contact Marriages again tomorrow. I still have time to sort it anyway so no desperate hurry. I don't need really huge amounts but to try and mix it myself would be ridiculous and there is no guarantee it is mixed well enough. I can make it to a pallet with other things but I find Marriages aren't the cheapest and my hens are really happy on the food I get for them. But for the feed with wormer I would need a prescription and buy 2 tons at a time from my supplier.

I get mine from Farm and Pet place too. They'll deliver it by 20kg sack. The first sack costs about £2.50 delivery but the more you order, the cheaper it gets (still quite a big on cost but cheaper than having to drive miles to pick it up).
