Title: the double bash
Post by: fifixx on January 08, 2014, 10:04:18 am
Ow - just got the bash from the bashed goat while feeding them - and have renewed vow to sort out a way to feed 30 goats without being in the pen with them

What set-up has anyone got?  Mine are horned so I need some sort of fence they can put head and horns through but not the rest of their body!  And highish of course...

I'm glad someone else has problems. I only have 6 but they just keep on squeezing and nothing shifts them. I have a big feeder if they are out but at the moment run the gauntlet with 6 buckets. It's not ideal but I also haven't got much space and don't know what the solution is. Easier when I pen them for kidding although a couple hop from pen to pen.

Could you use hook on troughs and fill from outside the pens.

Looking at the Tombstone feeders - probably 2 feed barriers with the tombstone top (suitable for horns).  If not this year, then next! http://johnshepherdfeeders.com/page5.htm (http://johnshepherdfeeders.com/page5.htm)
