Title: Pekin chickens breeds
Post by: Connor on January 05, 2014, 12:17:54 pm
I have bought myself a new incubator and it holds 48 eggs so i am going to buy some fertile eggs of ebay and get them posted over to me and hatch them out!

My questions are

Are pekins a docile bird and what are they like
Are the the same size of a silkie chicken

Also i have a gold silkie rooster aswell so if i hatched out a rooster and kept the pekin rooster with his hens in a different house would it work with two roosters?

I have three pekin cockerels as pets and they are very docile. They follow me everywhere in the garden, look really nice (all visitors say "your chickens look really posh"!) and are very entertaining. They are the same size as silkie chicken. I can carry them in my lap - I often bring one of them in if we have children visiting our house.  Nice chickens, I can recommend them.
