I'm getting close to my idyll. My own orchards, producing apple juice and cider. Running a flock of Light Sussex chickens and selling their eggs from the farm gate and keeping GOS pigs. As I say, I'm nearly there, what's your goal ? :pig:

My goal is to get my own place in texas and run it as a smallholding with pigs ducks hens and vegetables. we've narrowed it down to a small area near palestine, northern texas. Land prices are dirt cheap £60,000 for about 25 acres, sometimes bigger plots

I would say I am very happy with what I have. :)

I would like to work from home part time and keep goats for milking hens for laying and buy the cow next door for talking to, unfortunately I think he will be roast beef very soon. He comes over and keeps me company when I'm in the field digging my veg.
So far I have the field (now under control) I have the dogs for walking, a hen house ready for hens, nice veg growing BUT I still have a full time job so need more hours in the day and the guts to make THAT leap :-\

I want to get my house renovated, get my land broken down - with the help of a couple of porkers hopefully :) Have a few chooks, a sustainable veggie garden, little orchard, and a small cropping woodland to keep the log burner I'm going to get hot and toasty :) Oh and I'd like to get a couple of rescue Akitas to add the fiishing touch to my idil :)

I'm quite happy too ;D We are nearly there. I have my flock of sheep, the pigs, chickens and geese (and the dogs, horses & cats). Could do with expanding the veg patch, but just not enough hours in the day......... oh and a bigger greenhouse or polytunnel would be nice - generally I'm happy with the way life is ;D

Life would be idyllic if a certain pig would not walk all over my feet!!!
