This is Charlie, he is a 7 month old Light Sussex. He arrived yesterday and fitted right in, I was so proud of him lastnight as he took himself off to bed with the girls. Normally with a new addition we have to chase them around the garden first.

Very handsome - I think he is my Jamie's brother! ;D ;D ;D

I bet he thought he had better get his strength up so went to bed early!!!! Love the look of cockerels but to have one here would get me an ASBO ;D

It shouldn't worry James where he is, but I was very aware of that when one of my LS babies turned out to be Jamie. I put a notice on the fence to say to call my mobile if anyone objected to his crowing and I would kill him and put him on the pot (I couldn't have done that but I have a friend who could ;)) Didn't get ONE call! ;D ;D What I did was blacken the window of the shed so the daylight doesn't penetrate and leave the pophole closed till I get up. he still sees a little light so usually crows from about 8am, but doesn't crow that often.. If any of the girls are sparring he crows (to tell them to stop, I guess)

our two we re-homed were shut up at night, with blackened out everything, and STILL cocka-doodle-dooed at 3.20am, and carried on all day, competing with each other!
The neighbours didnt say anything, but then we've not seen them to speak to for a while...

;D ;D ;D They'll be avoiding you! ;)

Thanks everyone, he is soooooo good. I was a bit worried incase he would make too much noise and be vicious towards us but he is fairly quiet and comes running towards us when we go in beside them. He's a proper gentlemen at the moment and the girls have accepted him with no fuss.
