Title: interesting little clip showing hunting technicques of mustelidae
Post by: darkbrowneggs on December 26, 2013, 02:29:06 pm

Stoat & Cat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3lRWO8Ktq0#)

They have obviously filmed this as they thought it was funny, but see how fast it is and how it incessantly aims for the back of the neck

If you find a lot of your poultry dead and aren't sure why check for the almost invisible killer bite marks on the back of the neck

That is brilliant!  Amazing to see the cat playing with a stoat like that.   :roflanim:  Needless to say a cat has a similar killing technique  :innocent:

Nasty little creature and a good tip for identifying predators, thanks DBE. I hope we haven't got any of those round here as the bantams wouldn't last long.

I don't know about bantams unless the stoat is really hungry, but they were a constant problem with the call ducks, left a video camera running while I went out once, caught it dragging a duck away, duck was still flapping and trying to escape, AWFUL. I HATE stoats (and foxes, weasels etc etc  :( ).
Also not sure whether that cat actually wanted to 'play'?
