I've been wanting to get this DVD on pigs for sometime now but its always been priced at around £25.00 which I've thought was a bit rich. Last night I found this link for it and now its been ordered.

Looks like a few late Christmas presents may be in order. When we moved here we were fortunate enough to pick a farm that had included a small 85-sow commercial pig unit and an owner who remains a good friend and an endless source of advice on all matters piggy.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when the postman delivered the DVD, I now have two hours of film on pig rearing to view. :pig:

I first kept pigs over 25 years ago and have come back to them in the last couple of years but if the truth be known, I'm very much a beginner and the DVD was definitely aimed at beginners. I found it to be packed with useful information and having watched it, I'll definitely be implementing quite a few of the things that Clem ( the author) suggested. I found the DVD very easy to follow and IMO, anyone who watched it would be able to set off on a new small pig keeping enterprise, with myths and mystery around pig keeping dispelled. I would recommend it.

I have ordered this with Christmas money, looking forward to it arriving.

When you see the DVD, you'll see some porkers that look to be Pietrain x OSB. I think you'll agree that they look absolutely stunning. :pig:

I think this is an excellent DVD, yes it is aimed for the complete beginner so it assumes no knowledge of anything, so I skipped bits like how to put up an electric fence without it earthing out, but there was loads of excellent information. Rather bizarrely, my 3 year old son also loved it, and keeps wanting to watch it! Couldn't always concentrate due to army of small helpers, but looking forward to watching it again when children are asleep.
