Yesterday we were having family for Sunday lunch. I got everything ready, meat in the oven, veg cleaned and in pots before going out to muck out the stables. OH was fixing one of the doors so I mentioned we only had one dishwasher tablet left and would he get some on his way home from work tomorrow. His answer was why don't we just put washing up liquid in the machine. Gave him reasons for not doing this but you know what men are like, have to find out the hard way. I came in after doing all the outside chores to find him scoping soap suds of the floor. he had tried it and the mess took ages to clean up plus the dishwasher had to go through 3 programs empty. His answer, well it was worth a try !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah well, he won't do it again :roflanim:
-
Ah but his experimentation means the rest of us men don't have to try it. Typical man takes one for the team. :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim:

 If only me would listen
However, lets think of it positively , I bet in the mopping up process there are now areas that are sparkling that weren't on your to do list.

The battle of the sexes will never be won.........because there is too much fraternising with the enemy !

Don't bet on it.....maybe a little less next time  :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim:

lol, my OH did EXACTLY this when we first got our dishwasher... *sigh* ::)
-
:roflanim:I would say its a design flaw with washing up liquid. Someone ought to do something about it.
Any way Sabrina, if you'd have finished the job properly, loaded the dishwasher and set it off before going out to play with your horses, this whole sad episode need not have occurred....your man could have stayed safely on the sofa with his feet up and the remote control in hand.
Tut tut.
Anyway must rush off, have set this afternoon aside for thinking about Christmas shopping, I guess tomorrow I might actually have to make a start on it.

Bleach is one to try next time tell him........Jeys Fluid makes stuff taste funny. :innocent:
-
there is clear;y room to experiment here
we all know washing up liquid cleans dishes so clearly the dishwasher is faulty, maybe he should try some modifications so it works!!!
-
:roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim: Excellent.. if we are told it can't be done…. ;D ;D ;D
a man after my own heart

The best modification for washing up liquid is two hands and a brush :-)
-
this is clearly faulty woman logic ;D ;D ;D
clearly the dishwasher needs remodelling with a suds extractor and washing up liquid froth control nozzle...
should only take a day or two for any competent tinkerer in reasonably equipped shed...
by the way the space where the oven is currently will be needed for the new improved dishwasher.....
;D ;D ;D

:roflanim: its worth a try, sounds as bad as my sister when she was staying here, she decided to have a hydro bath and put bubble bath into the water then switched the bubbles on after she got into the water ::)
Just lets say we had quite a bit of foam in the bathroom :roflanim:

I once read of a chap whose ex-wife stated "washing motorbike engine blocks in the dishwasher" as grounds for divorce! ;D
-
Umm :innocent: :-[ ............. I have to be brutally honest here and tell you all that given a secondhand dishwasher as a wedding anniversary present a number of years ago (a very rich aunt and uncle, and one of the very earliest of dishwashers, so not a super duper all singing all dancing one like I have now :excited:, with no dishwash tablets included) I did actually put in fairy liquid. *hangsheadinshameforlettingmygenderdown*
But I had a lovely clean kitchen afterwards :eyelashes:

My OH is different, I must admit. He loads the dishwasher (I don't do it the way he likes it) and he buys all cleaning materials in bulk. At any time we have at least two spares of everything.

Hope he was awarded custody of the dishwaher on the grounds of his wifes unreasonable behaviour
-
Well, I have to say I use washing up liquid in my dishwasher, when I have failed again to buy dishwasher tablets.
And it is only said process of experimentation, and mopping up ;) that means I now know how much to put in (answer - much less than you think :D)

Jaykay, .

Oh dear, I hope OH does not get on here and read all this ::) ::) ::) . He has enough 'good' ideas without your help :o
