-
Don't tell me that, VF. I've got to drive to Liverpool on Christmas Day.
-
I have to admit, just 5 minutes down the road from Sandy and Steve, I hadn't noticed anything until I just let the dogs out. It is blowy but hopefully not as bad as a few weeks ago when another of my leylandii came down. Don't want any more logs just now thank you! :innocent:

Both wind and rain have stopped here now , but it was evil earlier . I got soaked going to the land , had to empty my wellies on the way there and back , just from rain running down my legs .
At least the wind was coming from the south , so it was a warm wind .
Horses had the hump again , who can blame them ? , and the big lump had a go at the other one while i was between them . Didn't get me this time though , ha ha ! , i got out of the way in time .

I noticed so many leaning trees earlier today and the ranger was in the forest so I expect there will be more down tomorrow...I always feel sad to see trees down!
-
It was spectacularly wet & windy earlier this evening - I've now got streams in places I've never had them before - justhope there's some soil left by next spring.
if it gets any wetter here I'll have to give the sheep snorkels.

O m g
Can't sleep for the wind

We seem to have missed it here, apart from a very heavy shower around 9.30. My son is out driving his lorry tonight so that is always a worry though.
-
We had gales and heavy rain all day, it was horrendous
This morning the wind has dropped and we have had a dusting of snow that has turned to ice :-\ not looking forward to going out in the car later
-
the wind dropped in the wee small hours...
we seem to have avoided the rain etc certainly not torrential like the forecast...
I believe the house is all still there will check at first light...
-
snowing on my way to work this morning. Hope you all survived last night's storm.
-
Gale force winds and horizontal sleet last night. Calmed down by 10pm thank goodness, just the odd gust through the night :relief:
Hope everyone is ok

Was horrible here last night, not too bad when I was out at 730 but has got up again the last hour and is miserable again. The roof of the coop is hinged and keeps blowing right over on itself, not sure how many times it'll hold before coming off completely, and the wee coop has tipped right over twice. I'm so glad the tops of the trees are off but I guess the change in height has created some kind of eddy effect in the chook run behind it.. but better that than trees over the top of the coop and onto the house too..
Ponies are needing more hay than I can drag out in a bag 2-3x a day and I am struggling to do that too so I will have to bite the bullet and order some very expensive hay to be delivered direct to the fields so we can all have a couple days peace but I am trying to keep going til Monday so those couple days might include the promised storms on C.Eve..
Thanks for the heads up VF :-\ I hoped today was the worst, there's snow coming in with the rain at the mo but it's too wet and windy to settle ::)

'tis a bit windy and bumpy here on the edge of the Atlantic (about 90km WNW of Shetland) although nothing out of the ordinary for winter. However it has been constant for a while now, we haven't seen a supply boat for a week and the forecast suggests we won't see one for another week at least.
The Christmas food is still not here and I am getting worried...................

I took the pooch out at about 10.00 hrs last night for his last clean dog session it was peeing it down with a decent blow behind it.. he turned tail as soon as he poked his nose out the door & turned into a Sooner.. so did I .... Sooner in doors that out the better.
About 01.10hrs he came and shouldered the bedroom door open , shoved his head into my face several times as his way of saying " I want to go and be clean " .
I dragged on my grollies and jeans then used my crutches to get to the door , he tore out down to his dog loo and started to pee like a race horse. Just as he started the heavens opened and a big strong gust of wind blew several buckets of water off the garage roof in an inch thick sheet/slab of water some 7 x 7 feet across, it landed fair and square on pooch who was still peeing .
I've never seen a dog react so quick, as soon as it hit him he was about two feet up in the air sort of spotty dog style with stiff legs still peeing . On landing he tore back to the house still trying to write his name on the ground .
I kept him out side till he'd finished then let him in .. Big mistake ... I got a cold bath as he shook himself silly in the hall way trying to shake off most of the ice cold water.
When he'd finished & I came into the lounge ..his eyes were sparkling like diamonds , boy oh boy was he switched on & all keyed up.
Stayed up with him as I got dried off and had a hot cup of coffee & put the heating on for an hour to warm me up .
The wind & rain was roaring along like an express train through a narrow station it even took out the sky signal for a good 20 minutes . I went back to bed about 02.00 hrs. it was still blowing a rain soaked gale around 03.00hrs
I thought we were going to lose a few roof tiles at the very least .
This morning at 07.30 the car was thickly covered in frozen rain drops.
Some very varied weather for us yesterday indeed.
