Title: Starting a new flock
Post by: Azzdodd on December 11, 2013, 08:37:13 am
Recently I split up from my partner and I had to sell all my sheep but now I've managed to get a piece if rented land which is ideal for me. I'm not really sure were to start to be honest I can get access to a ram for free so them being in lamb isn't essential I've never bought at market and I only want a small number 4-6 ewe's? I've always bought through sites like preloved or this one. Don't have a huge budget about £300

Take your chances at market?
Alternatively, try a breeder's association, see if anyone is selling out of season.
Or try a local farmer, if they have any cull ewes left you might possibly get them cheap if you can live with the problems.

good lambs are selling for less than £70 a head. try a market if you have a bit of experience. youre only one bid worse than the other guy. :eyelashes:
