Title: New ground!!
Post by: Eagledance on August 24, 2009, 07:40:32 pm
Woop Woop!!
Our older neighbour has a plot of land that she is unable to manage and has said that we can use her veg plot to grow!! She will supply seed and wants some of the veg!!
This will probably treble our growing space!!!

Woop woop!

Do you get the feeling I am excited?

Woop woop!!

BUT it is late August - what can I plant now??

Garlic,
get autumn sown peas (eg Keveldon wonder) and broad beans (The Suttton) ready for Sept/Oct
Might get away with  turnips, abd radishes
Lambs lettuce
Kale if plants not seed
Chicory (looks like oriental cabbage)
Radishes
Spinach and swiss chard

Happy planting!! Any ground you dont fill, weed well and compost then cover with cardboard or carpet and it'll be beautiful by the spring

Congratulations, ED!
We've just planted another row of Lidl's living salads, they should still do well (I know it's cheating  ;D), sown more radishes and pak choi. Kale should still do well. Lambs lettuce. I tried broad beans and the like before but all go eaten by mice over the winter. :&>
