Title: turkeys time

Can any one advise me on the best date to kill my turkeys.so as to leave them to hang and have them prepared for crimbo.i only have 3 so shouldn't take long to do?.

I like to hang mine for 7-10 days but its all personal preference.

I'm planning on killing them weekend after next, Sat 14th/Sun 15th, hang them till the following weekend and clean them out Sun 22nd

Mainly because I have more time at the weekends to do it  ;D

as its so mild you really need a chilled area to hang for 10 days so that may affect your decision, or it may get smelly (speak from experience here  :innocent:). we have hung for between 2 and 10 days with success.
how big are they? would another week of feeding get them to your required weight?
