HI
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Liability Insurance for a Smallholder. At present we have 12 sheep - the most we have is about 20 after lambing each year.I have just got the renewal notice & it is £184.60 with £500 excess on each claim, which I feel is rather excessive.
I have tried NFU, but I need to move my house insurance to them to get cover included on my policy & they don't sell separate Liability Insurance.
Can anyone recommend better policies?
Thanks
Lynn

Who are you with at the moment?

Try Cornish Mutual/COOP/ Avita---they have all been cheaper and easier to deal with than NFU

Hillview Farm - I am currently with LRMS Insurance Services at the moment.
Tim W - which company do you use/recommend.

Shop around---I have no loyalty to any insurance company , they won't show you any ;)

 try www.stuartbenger.co.uk (http://www.stuartbenger.co.uk) they have 2 smallholder polices that cover tools livestock fences buildings liability etc . there is gold and silver different levels depending how much cover u need .think silver is £200 p/a gold is £275 . must have no more than 50 acres . if i remember right it is underwritten by sun alliance . for what you are already paying you might aswell have the extra cover .i just got my renewal form in from them :'(
