does anyone out there have a tried and tested home made chicken tonic recipe, just something I can give them on a fairly regular basis to keep them happy and healthy without chemicals? My hens are kept as layers if that helps.
Thanks all. :fc:

Porridge oats, honey and milk - with some poultry spice added if you want to.
-
Silly question but is this 'cooked porridge' tonic? :-[
-
Yes, but not much - I pour boiling water over the porridge oats, then add the honey to melt it, mix it in then add the milk to cool it, and lastly the poultry spice. My hens would kill for it but my new young ducks haven't acquired the taste yet.

That's great, many thanks.

Quality food and access to a natural habitat if possible. Most of these tonics and potions are designed to make the chicken keeper feel better, not the chickens.
