I've been watching Cloud today as her behaviour is not quite as crazy as usual. She's usually pretty active and, more to the point, fairly joined at the hip to Pom.
Today, she's been out in the yard every time I've looked outside, usually on her own, just standing on the pile of breeze blocks they have there. It's dark now and she's still there. She's hardly moving apart from her tail which twitches violently every so often. Occasionally, she lets out a gentle bleat.
Although I have been keeping goats for more than eleven years, Cloud is only my third female. The others where louder and very obviously trying to get through or over the fences.
I didn't try the billy rag as I decided, in the end, to get Pom in kid again and just have Cloud as a companion goat. What I want to know though is could this be it? :eyelashes:

Yes I would think so - the tail flicking is the thing to watch out for. One of my BT's only ever bleats/moans quietly and irregularly when in season - difficult to spot...

She does wag her tail sometimes but this was more like a twitch. She could have done this before and I've just not noticed. Very strange as she's usually a very noticeable goat. I'll book her in with the male then. :excited:

We have an anglo here that we missed. She does not make a sound and just stands quietly beside another goat giving her tail the odd swish. by the time we noticed it I had to rush out to a hospital appointment and when I got back she was finished

Cloud was bleating a bit this morning before she had had a chance to see either of us so this is it. :excited: She's off to the billy in three weeks. I have a rather nice pure Sanaan lined up for her.

Great!
She sounds so sweet, not like my Bolshy Toggs who DEMAND a man ;D
Apart from little Angie that is, she came in season last week, very half hearted, and I've decided to try and run her through, she's small up to the others and struggled first time kidding a big kid this year, hopefully she'll grow on a little bit.
Good luck getting her to the male.

Thanks. Watch this space. ;D

We paid a visit to the billy today and the deed was done - three times. Boy was Cloud keen and so was he. We had trouble getting her out of the pen and keeping him in.
Three week wait now to see if she's taken, then the patter of tiny hooves to look forward to.

It's looking hopeful. She was showing no sign of being in season but bedtime and is very calm today. I'll be glad when the stick wears off though.
