Blimey!  I was out there on Wednesday doing a night navigation excersise of all things. Having that block of flats in the way would certainly have made life more interesting!!

It's a cruise liner, they come in to Queensferry every now and again.

i've seen that one plenty times - i used to work in Falgety bay, so crossed the bridge twice a day. it can only pass under at a low tide! it's pretty frightening, you think you'll end up sitting beside the passengers as you drive over it

Something moving about big ships....(yes spelt correctly and NOT a pun!!) I went to see a ship sail off to Australia as a young girl, my parents were going to be on it but cancelled at the last min due to my Nan being very ill...I then went on a cruise with the school when I was 16, both events brought a lump in my throat when the ships horn blew!!!!! so romantic!!!!!! Although, I personally would not go on a cruise with my OH now, far to  commercial and bling!!!!

John and I went on a cruise after Sarah and Duncan's wedding.  They had gone on honeymoon so we decided to have a belated 'non-honeymoon'  if you know what I mean.
I have never enjoyed a trip so much.  I think I'd say it was the best holiday I've ever had.  It was a  Garden Cruise and we had gardening lectures most days, plus tours of local gardens in about 5 different countries including the Generalife Gardens at the Alhambra Palace in Grenada (pronounced heneraleefey)  There were two gardening celebrities of the time onboard, and we had lovely chats with them.  The weather once we got across the Bay of Biscay was fabulous, a lovely pool to cool off in and decks to sunbathe on, dolphins swimming all around the ship when we were in the Med, and the food was fantastic.  The staff were just perfect (in fact it was one of the Greek bartenders who gave me the brandy - on the house - because he thought I was looking a wee bit queasy as we went down the Channel. If you have a video player, Sandy, I'll dig out the video for you.  Our ship was a 700 passenger one so not huge, and there were almost as many staff.  We celebrated the Captain's birthday on the third day out.   There was a formal dinner one night.  Just trying to scan in the photo

Lovely photo's of you both, don't think much to the captain, John was MUCH better looking :) The one I went on was educational, the SS Uganda, I must have got chatted up by ALL the ugly boys on the ship and NONE of the nice looking ones, well out of 1,000 studens on board 700 were boys between 15 - 17, I just had started gong out with who was my to be Husband so I remained loyal, very good fun but we of course roughed it in dorms!!!! Went on a mini cruise to Sweden with my ex Husband, that was very strained,  he insisted on calling the waiters by shotting "BOY" how embarrassing, no way romantic. Of course with my partner now, everyday is like a holiday and always romantic

So remember to tell him!!!!  I didn't tell John often enough!  I must admit I miss having something good to look at every day - apart from Allez, of course.  He's my 'main man' now! ;D ;D ;D

My folks live in NQF and I've been out with them in a wee boat for a skite round some of these huge liners.

Sometimes the dolphins follow them in and you can see them leaping and sporting around the ship.
