Wow, it's good ;D . I added about 2/3rds of a packet to werthers to a half bottle of vodka. When I make it again I will add the whole packet rather than eating the rest. :)
It's definitely worth doing if you like that sort of thing.

Oh I think I'd like that sort of thing! :excited:
Off to the shop for Werthers....
-
Think I need to visit Sally!
-
Sounds lovely :yum: I should test it for you to make sure it's safe :innocent:
-
Well that's one to try  when you say packet do you mean one of the tubes or of the bigger bags?
-
Sounds good.

Frosty I used about 2/3rds of one of the bigger bags but think I should have used the whole bag. It's so easy to do I.e. Just put Werthers and vodka in a bottle and leave for a few days. You could put some in and then add more on eat he first lost have dissolved if you want it stronger.
I put the vodka and Werthers in a wines bottle with a screw top lid to dissolve and then decanted it back into the vodka bottle :excited:

Is this just a stronger version of Bailey's? Never heard of it...
-
I've never had Baileys so I'm not sure but it is definitely strong. I have just had some and you only need a small shot
-
it sounds really lovely, except i cant stand vodka. i love baileys though...yum. just the werthers for me :roflanim: :yum:
-
I think you can do the same thing with Skittles :eyelashes:

Toffee Vodka is yum
Last year I made Limoncello - lemon rinds steeped in Vodka then removed and sugar added and left for a few weeks.
Great for shots for a party.
-
You inspired me! Put most of a bag of Werthers in yesterday and they've already dissolved. I may add more though - the vodka hit is still quite strong. Definitely not as smooth as Baileys. I have a sweet tooth so I reckon more needed!
My husband has challenged me to prepare a series of shots for his work team for their Christmas do - suspect he'll get them to guess at each. So far I've got:
- Damson gin
- Sloe gin
- Raspberry vodka
- Raspberry brandy
- Fig brandy
- Marrow rum (will try it out on them because far from convinced it's drinkable :))
- Toffee vodka
I've done various wines but they're not going to be ready for months and am not wasting those on them but any other ideas for things I can prepare in the next couple of weeks? Was going to have a go at ginger beer but that's not quite in the same league.

Pineapple vodka is delicious HesterF! I bought a fresh pineapple really cheaply at the marketstall, chopped it up, put it in vodka for two weeks only, then strain. Doesn't need sugar at all and tastes so innocuous (until you fall over :excited: ) Just tastes like pineapple juice - so be warned!
-
Doh! Just composted a pineapple two days ago because we hadn't got around to using it and it was no longer in prime condition. Sounds fab!
-
OMG - I am feeling quite drunk just reading all the possibilities... but still have a bottle of vodka (it travelled here from the continent :innocent: ) in the cupboard... and with heating oil/coal/electricity prices going through the roof I may as well keep warm from the inside... :eyelashes:

Pineapple vodka now underway. Any other suggestions? The ironic thing is I really don't drink that much and I now have a house full of spirits both in their original form and with funny things floating in them. Several visitors have now commented on the amount of alcohol around.

Need any help with drinking it? :innocent:

Your kitchen must look like mine! :excited: I am having a girls evening of drinking early next month so have got the werthers to do yet. Have you ever tried something called a Tonka bean? I discovered them whilst on holiday at a gastro hotel - they put them in everything from coffee to granola. You grate them like nutmeg and they have a truly unique flavour, very heady aroma and slightly vanilla flavour. Am now thinking Tonka Vodka...
-
I've had Tonka bean in a pudding - can't think exactly what but yes, vanillary. Tonka Vodka has a great ring to it!
