Title: Rescue Lurcher looking for a new Home. (Northumberland)
Post by: sokel on November 09, 2013, 08:26:28 pm
We have a 3 1/2 year old black with white bib lurcher dog that is looking for a new home. He is a short coated about half way between a whippet and a greyhound in size.
He turned up at our place nearly 2 weeks ago in a bad state , we finally tracked down his owner but they no longer wanted the dog so he is staying with us until a home can be found.
He is a working lurcher, He retrieves too hand.  Is 100% with Horses, sheep, goats, cattle, poultry, pheasants and other dogs. We have all of these and he has been loose around them totally ignoring them.
He has lived with kids and loves everyone. He has lived indoors but for the last few months he has been kept outside with a jack russel (also needing a home) .
He is a very quiet dog and in the 2 weeks we have had him he has not once barked .
I think he would fit into a pet home very easily although def not with pet rabbits  ::)
From day one we have been able to exercise him off the lead and he stays with you.
I have microchipped him today and the chip will be registered in the new owners name
please contact me for more details

Damnit - if you were down here, Id bite your hand off, I'd love a working lurcher again but my wife doesn't want another dog. Throw in a hard luck story, however....... :innocent:

And I'd bite the other off! We lost our lurcher last year and got loads of rabbits in the field. Could swap for a spaniel?!
