Hi, I'm looking to buy a shepherds hut to provide self catering accommodation on our small holding. There are some beautiful huts out there all insulated and kitted out ready which is what I'm after as I have don't have time to do the restoration myself. So I was wondering if any of you helpful people could recommend a company I could order one from? I would prefer to support a small business or craftsman than a big company but all recommendations welcome.
Thank you.
I would also consider buying a renovated hut second hand - please get in touch!
Thank you

Hi Hafod.
I think you've seen the thread that I posted on here a while ago on Shepherds huts but I've managed to lose the contact details that I took. The site was in a garden centre on the main road near to Church Stretton heading towards Ludlow and Hereford but a quick Google has failed to locate it. If you can be patient with me, I'll be travelling that way again in the next month or so and I'll pop in again.
What my Googling did reveal however, was that there are umpteen companies making Shepherd huts across the length and breadth of the country but that some of them are asking rather high prices for their wares. The price was the main attraction of the one that I found but then of course, you've still got to kit it out with all the various mod cons.

A place that I have bought chickens from also do shepherds huts: http://www.bespokeshepherdhutcompany.com/ (http://www.bespokeshepherdhutcompany.com/)
They are near Malvern.

I have 2 shepherds huts, one I bought years ago which is actually a showmanship trailer as is built on a generator chassis. The other I had specially built this summer.
You have to be very careful as there are many cashing in and charging a fortune for what is basically a poorly constructed shed on wheels!
So....I recommend Cowley oak.....no frills website, super quality, good price!

You could try this lot - http://northumberlandhut.com/ (http://northumberlandhut.com/)
It's an offshoot of Trunk Reclaimed (http://www.trunkreclaimed.co.uk/) who do some nice looking reclaimed furniture and kitchens but it doesn't look particularly cheap! ::)
