Post by: Hillview Farm on November 04, 2013, 07:19:27 pm
I need some more polywire, I need 500m.  Best price I can find is £13.99 each plus £5.20 postage.

Anyone found cheaper?

That seems a pretty decent price - but is it really decent polywire? Polywires vary enormously - at that price  I expect it is economy grade. We sell 250m economy rolls for £6.25 - it does the job (for a relatively short time)  - it is not especially robust and the fewer metal strands within the polywire mean less conductivity .  The better grades (manufactured by Gallagher for example)  are more expensive and will last longer and give a better "whack".  You can combine polywire (for visibility) with plain galvanised electric fence wire (Tougher and more conductive)  within the same fence if you use decent joiners - By the way - I'm not trying to make a sale - I'm not into mail order  :)
