Title: Recommendations for a Book on Waterfowl?
Post by: Marches Farmer on November 03, 2013, 09:27:14 am
I've raised ducklings on a small scale but would like to do more.  Any recommendations for a good intoruductory book on raising ornamental breeds rather than the ubiquitous table/layer birds?  Or a monthly magazine.

No use on either books or publications (I have lots but all domestic waterfowl) but I can recommend joining the British Waterfowl Association (covers all waterfowl ornamental and domestic);

They sell a lot of books through their on-line shop and I reckon would be really helpful if you phone up for advice. I've got the waterfowl standards from them - took a while to pin them down on the phone but once I did they were great.

Many thanks - I hadn't heard of them before. I'd like to keep Fulvous Whistling Tree Ducks one day - just to have a reason to keep saying Fulvous Whistling Tree Ducks!

 ;D - not only that but the whistling is quite cool too, isn't it? I can't have ornamentals here - no permanent open water - but my neighbour has a variety of little ducks and they're great. Jealous!
