Title: Thanks to TAS...
Post by: mowhaugh on November 02, 2013, 06:34:00 pm
...we are now pig owners!

Some of you might remember a few weeks ago, Lynne (sorry I can't remember her forum name) asked for advice about Doreen, her 6 year old Large Black sow Doreen, as but to her changing circumstances, she wouldn't be able to let Doreen have any more piglets.

The general concensus was that Doreen would love to have more piglets, so Lynne advertised her on here, and we collected her today!

No photos as it was dark when we got home, but we are very excited to have here here.

Sorry about the appalling spelling and grammar and general lack of sense in post above, was on Kindle!

Oh goody, someone near me breeding large blacks, I may be looking for weaners next year! Everyone around me that I have bought weaners from in the past is either giving up or crossing  with commercial breeds and I really want to stick to traditional native breeds.

Could you use AI?

Possibly, Rosemary, there is a boar available for AI, but I am a bit off it having had a disaster trying AI with some ponies this year, so would like to try naturally if possible.
