Anyone use a Tefal actifryer or something similar?
I want to know if they are worth the price

My mum bought me the family sized actifry as an early xmas pressie in july and I love it! I use it all the time. You can cook home made chips in it as well as shop bought ones. I do my roast veg in it every sunday. Ive also made curry, one pot rice dishes and other stuff in it. The only thing ive tried in it that didnt work was spag bol, i didnt brown the mince beforehand so it stayed in clumps and (i add kidney beans to my spag bol for some extra veg) my kidney beans got mashed up which spoilt the texture.
If think if you look online you'll find loads of stuff you can use it for, its quick, easy to clean and I have had no problems with it so far and I use it at least twice a week. Hope this helps!

Great piece of kit...wish someone invented it years ago.....I use spray oil in mine to try and make it even healthier...
Diced raw potatoes, garlic,diced peppers, tomatoes and onions...
Start the potatoes off with some spray oil, a few crushed chilli flakes, smoked paprika and salt. Leave them alone until approx 10 mins before they are nice and crisp, add the peppers, tomatoes and onions...season and enjoy.....love it... :excited:

I used to love mine. Unfortunately it broke after just less than a year so I was able to get my money back. I bought a Phillips airfryer instead which I find is good for oven chips but not as versatile for other stuff. I miss my actifry. Watching the food being stirred round browning itself holds a strange fascination.

Helen, I was looking at the Philips because you don't need any oil but have heard that it isn't as good as the actifry.
