Title: Animals and emotions
Post by: Endeavour on October 28, 2013, 10:31:59 am
Hello everyone

I wondered if anyone could take a few minutes to complete a questionnaire for me and reply. I'm looking for the owners of pigs who may or may not regard them as pets as well. The questionnaire forms part of a task for my partners sociology research project. If you have a dog as well and could complete the survey with them in mind that would be great too.

Many many thanks

Questions below and as attachment.

Questionnaire

1.   Do you have a special animal you take care of?
2.   Is this your first such animal?
3.   What made you choose this particular animal?
4.   Has your animal got a name?
5.   If so, how/what influenced your choice of name?
6.   What did you anticipate your relationship with your animal would be like?
7.   Have your conceptions/opinions of the relationship changed since?
8.   Did/does your animal seek affection/attention/approval from you?
9.   How does this make you feel?
10.   Was this what you expected?
11.   Do you think your animal has a distinct personality?
12.   If so, how would you describe it?
13.   How do you think you will feel if your animal died?
14.   Do you think your feelings towards the death of your animal have changed/will change over time?
15.   If so, in what way?
16.   What one word or phrase would sum up how you most feel about your animal?

Thank you for answering these questions.
It will help me consider the nature of the relationship between humans and non-human animals in specific circumstances.
