2 Jersey Bull Calves , 1 will be a year old and the other 10 months.
I think after today with 2 goats :o we have seriously under estimated how much meat we are going to get back :-\
-
what age do you plan on sending the calves at or are you going to grow them on for a couple of years?
-
we where originally going to do them as rose veal but what with one thing and another they didn't go so sending them off at the end of November at 10 months and 1 yr old . We don't have the facilities to keep Jerseys here over winter with the weather we get
-
It will still be more veal than beef. especailly if they are entire males.
depends on their live weight but maybe 150kg dead weight, so maybe 100kg of meat.
-
They are not entire, Please tell me that's 100kg from the 2 of them ? I have read so many different things online I am now expecting anything from 50kg off each of them up to 100kg off each , :-\
I can see Commercial Freezer number 3 needed , just had the second one delivered this week and already half full of pork, lamb and goat
-
its a bit how longs a piece of string. but certainly our reasonable bull calves would give 100kg per beast.
you`ll soon find out anyway!
good luck
