Title: wildlife friendly way of cleaning slippy stone flags please?
Post by: Old Shep on October 17, 2013, 06:53:58 pm
We have some stone flags around the pond that get very slippy at this time of year, does anyone know of a good way to clean them off that isn't going to kill pondlife if it runs into the pond please?

Is it a large area? Would good old fashioned water and a stiff broom work? Or possibly a pressure washer? Both will shift the slime but not put chemicals in the pond.

I'm another one for the pressure washer. No chemicals are used, just water

Or even a steamer if you have one. We use ours to clean rabbit hutches. Not as fast as a pressure washer but it should kill the mould a bit.

thanks - I'll try the pressure washer if the extension cable can reach that far, otherwise I'll try the sand.

thanks :-)
