I have a pair of ram's horns & I wonder whether anyone knows where I could have them made into crooks.

If you Google " stick makers " there are several to choose from all over the country.

Will depend on the species of ram too. Apparently there is less useable stuff in wilts horns because the structure is more open at the base, so for a double-looped rams horn, you could only use the outer 'loop'. I gave some gimmer rams horns to a stickmaker once, but he said there wouldn't be enough to get a crook from.

I think it's to do with the thickness of the horn, you need at least 2 or 3mm? (sorry I can't remember the exact thickness), you'll only get that with older horn.

Thanks - I have emailed Wrens who seem to make incredible sticks. They are from a 3 year old Heb. the horns measure 26ins round the outer curve.
