Post by: LulaB on October 14, 2013, 02:25:31 pm
SMALL MIXED FLOCK SHEEP/LAMBS (Lleyn X, Jacob X, GFDs, Welsh X) - ideal for smallholders .  Have all been running with a Hampshire Down Ram.  All looking like they are due for nice early lambing (being scanned this week).  £70 per pregnant ewe, £50 per lamb.  PM me[/size] for more details.

A few people have asked exactly what we've got and where we are.

We have 15 girls to go - 3 pure GFDs (gorgeous and I should really be charging more for them, but hey ho) and twelve Dolly Mixtures - Welsh X, Lleyn X, Jacob X (who ALWAYS gives multiples - she's a lambing machine), Hampshire Down X (inc one GFD X Hampshire who is stunning).

We are in the Blackdown Hills, 10-15 mins from the M5 - dead easy to get to.

Argh, why is the timing all ways bad when my perfect sheep come along! I'd LOVE a GFD, have wanted one ever since I saw some at the Honiton show as a kid. BUT Hubby not working due to a badly broken arm so no money at the mo for the bills, let alone more mouths to feed! :(

We are not far away either- in the Blackdowns nr Dunkeswell. Maybe I'll win some £ on the lottery Sat... ;D

Hi everyone.  Phew! loads of interest!

They're being scanned at the weekend now.  Sorry for the delay.

I'm sure some will be empty, although the Hampshire ram they have been running with is a potent fellow!  I'll post as soon as I know.

To those of you who have PM'd me, I've either tried to respond to you all, or have posted something on here if everyone's question was the same.

Funkyfish, oh you would LOVE the GFDs!  I have to admit, they are my favourites.  They come up for a cuddle in the field and throw the cutest lambs.  My husband wants to keep them, but it wouldn't be fair.  Best of luck with the lottery!

As they are an established family now, I would prefer them all to go together.

Right!!!

The man with the scanner and long plastic glove has been and we have 8 of our ewes in lamb.  We've got a couple with singles (2 of the GFDs), most doubles and one triple (as per the scan today). As I predicted, Dotty (Jacob X) is the one with triplets.  But, importantly, ALL of the mature ewes are in lamb.  They're all about 6 weeks gone, so you're looking at February/March lambing.

So, let me know if you want the lovely dolly mixture flock!
