Title: Hello from Whitley Bay
Post by: WillieBee on October 12, 2013, 02:47:41 pm
Just saying hi !

I don't have a smallholding, but I guess you also accept folk with allotments.

I now have an allotment, after about 4 1/2 years on the waiting list.

I'm busy trying to dig it all over, then will measure everything and make a plan ... may as well try and get it right from the start.

I did buy some broad bean seeds to pop in, just to have something growing. I might also put in some Meteor peas too. The seeds are only 25p at the local allotment association shop, so probably worth it. I was just doing a bit of research on the pea, when this site popped up.

Regards to all ! ;D

Congrats on your 'lottie Willie Bee. How exciting

Planning and plotting and choosing seeds etc is the second best part of an allotment I think, the best bit is eating the first thing you harvest from it  :tree:

 hello from Durham ( nearer Washington ) I was at tynemouth beach with the dogs on Monday  :sunshine: could have popped by.

I currently have two allotments with fruit, veg and hens. Looking for a smallholding to expand on what to do here. Popping in broad beans, onions and garlic in the next few weeks hopefully before this threat of snow appears  :cold:

This is a typical bird we find in Whitley  Bay .. ;D

Only joking, I used to work in Southern Africa and had these birds in my garden ... and they really are cool birds.

By the way, thanks to everybody who has said hi
