Title: Blue lick
Post by: Bionic on October 11, 2013, 09:26:02 am
Well, the lick isn't blue but its the one in the blue tub. I think its high mag?
There is still half a tub in the field. Will it be ok for next year if I put the lid back on and store it?
Should they be on green now?

You'll have to give us the make too, Sally - the different manufacturers use different colours.

For instance Crystlyx blue and green are for cattle only!

Yes they don't need the blue (mag) now.

If they need anything, then it'll be orange (general sheep minerals) or red (hi energy + fish oils) or green (hi energy) :).  When I had only a few I tended just to use the orange all year around, I've never bothered with a blue as I never use artificial fertiliser.

Mine have a red at the moment as the tups are in.

And you'd need to read the use-by date on your blue tub ... the mineral content goes off after a while. The shelf life of supalyx tubs is 12 months.
