Title: Waterfowl & pondweed?
Post by: Shropshirelass on October 05, 2013, 05:32:06 pm
I've recently been helping a neighbor / tenant of ours sort out a stream going through our land & their garden that's become all clogged up with pond weed by clearing it with a rake. Now the ducks & geese used to swim through this stream & it leads into the river clun that also goes through our land so we wan't it to allow the water to flow better but we're stuck with loads of pond weed to dry out - can I give this to our poultry & waterfowl as they used to swim where there obviously was some x

Mine won't touch it.  Let it dry out in flat skeins then use it to cover weeds,

Ah ok but is it safe to try them with it? It's not had anything on & we haven't used anything on the ground x

It'll be like cardboard tomorrow, I really don't think they'll touch it.

Guess so.  I had so much of it in the summer i just left it to dry off and cover the weeds rather than lug it to the compost bin.

Well we left the last lot to dry for a few days before putting it in the compost bin today & it was still soggyish x
