Title: Potato harvest
Post by: Lesley Silvester on October 02, 2013, 10:58:07 pm
I've just harvested 8lbs of potatoes, one weighing more than a pound on its own. Not bad considering I didn't plant any.

:) We get that quite a lot too, especially in the compost bins.  :spud: :spud: :spud:

  Something very magical about digging up potatoes, never fails to fascinate me......although not grown any for years and years!

My compost heap from 2-3 years ago is apparently a rich tattie bed, I haven't planted any other than in tubs or bags for at least 4 years but still find them in the herb bed I planted 18 months back too  ::)

Can enjoy a few homegrown spuds without the effort of planting for years to come I reckon.. Not picked mine yet but the day is coming!

Mine were in my new raised beds which were filled from the manure/compost heaps.
