Hiya,

We have three pet sheep and I am trying to get organised for autumn and winter. Can anyone help with supplying and delivering a bale of hay?

Thanks
Chrissie  :)

If no one on here can help directly, why not get in touch with the local livestock mart, many of them have forage sales and while the quantities will be too big for you, they will know of someone local to you who has hay. Also horse feed suppliers will have contacts for hay and straw supplies locally.

Chrissie, can't you just get a local farmer to do it - we have many can do it for us, it's £25 for hay delivered and £15 for straw here in borders, must be lots of farmers round your way no?

yes, talking to the farmer down the road seems like the most sensible option....just comes to show how the internet connects you with the world but not your neighbours - especially on a misty autumn morning when typing in bed seems so much more appealing that putting wellies and coat on and walking down the lane ;)

thanks for giving the price as well because I remember last year I spoke to the people who keep the horses who said they would bring us a bale as well but charged a fair amount more for delivery so at least now I have a base for negotiation!
