Title: Slap marking
Post by: 90driver on September 18, 2013, 10:18:53 am
Hello all.

My first venture into pigs is drawing to a close. I slap marked them last night ready for the day. This morning at feed time I could only see the faintest smudge of ink on the hair (GOS). Is this normal ??

The pigs all jumped each time they were slapped so I am guessing the needles did their job, but would expect to see the mark after.

Many thanks

Marc

On our berkshires last year we didn't see it at all until afterwards  ;D but not sure of gos.  I'm sure they will be fine :)

We had GOS and the slap mark didn't look clear when we did it but it showed up really well on the butchered meat so I am sure yours will be fine
