Just wondering what advice other people, in the area have been given about the SVB Vaccine?
I'm just outside Dumfries and use a local practice who aren't stocking the vaccine as it's not selling. Even though they as a practice have 2 confirmed cases and 2 suspected cases in calves in the area.
I have ordered mine, I know im late and its going to push back my lambing by about 10 days to vaccinate a month before tupping. (I moved house in August so had loads of other things to sort out first!)
I just wondered what the other local smallholders were doing? ???

Well I am a bit further East from you in the Scottish Borders, and have only done the female goats that are being (possibly) mated this autumn. Mainly because one is sold to go far down south and I am sure they have it there.... so I treated others too. The 20ml bottle came to nearly 50quid :o
But I won't be doing my ewes, as my tups don't go in until mid-Nov.

£2.95 per dose here I need 25 doses but as bottles come in 20mls vet suggested vaccinating ewe lambs too as some animals get unwell after infection from midgies, so at least the other dose isn't wasted. Hope its the best £90 I ever spend pre lambing!
