I don't know if it is just a coincidence, but my boys and I have just had the first meal I think they've had where everything was homegrown (lamb hotpot - lamb, potatoes, peas and carrots) and it was also the first meal they've ever had where they both sat quietly and sensibly and ate up every mouthful.

Ssh, you weren't supposed to tell anyone that bit! Actually, Angus is fairly well tied down in his high chair. He is at the stage of being able to load a spoon himself, but usually it somehow flips over on the way to his mouth and the food falls off into his lap. Not tonight, though!
I can't take too much of the credit, I was only responsible for the lamb, my step dad is the veg-grower, but it was still very satisfying.

I'm convinced children don't actually like endless turkey dinosaurs and chips, with sweet stuff between. My sons and grandchildren have always loved real food and the more homegrown and homemade it is the better. Tonight my youngest grandson went out to collect the eggs then had two for his tea with homemade wholemeal toast - he polished his plate. Yesterday we had Heb Hogget chump chops, with potatoes, green beans and carrots - all the veg he had just dug up or picked himself - another polished plate.
It's great isn't it ;D :hungry: :garden: :sheep:
