That's all I wanted to say really, they are our first chicks, so I am rather excited. One is black, and one is yellowy brown. I can't find the piece of paper where I wrote down the breeds the eggs were (it was a 'lucky dip' selection!), so am going to have to see if I can read the breeds from the broken shells. They are so sweet, and the hen is delighted with them. The black one had only just hatched when I got back from work, so can't wait to see if there are more - she had 6 eggs.

Well done. It wont matter what they are you will enjoy them anyway.

Still just two, but I think the black one might be a Silkie and the yellow and brown a Barnevelder (from trying to read the broken shells) - does that sound possible?

Enjoy! :fc: that they are both / all hens :)

Well done, it would be nice if you got a few more but I'm sure the boys will love them. I have had 3 quail hatch this morning out of 20 eggs.
