Sorry, I couldn't resist. This is expensive, nearly 200,000 Pounds and only 15 hektare, but it is just to show what one can get

That looks lovely and I don't think expensive at all - it has 2 houses, great outbuildings and what looks like 15 acres of great land - would cost nearer a £1M around here.

Yes, but land is cheap in Scandinavia - unless you are really close to big cities. It seems expensive for Sweden to be honest. My friends in Sweden, who have 800 hectares there and the same in Norway told me when i bought this place I'd get a farm of 100 acres for the same price in Norway - £265K

Well,it is 15 miles from the city and airport so I suppose that has affected the price. I too thought it was expensive. My farm, with 40 hektare of forest cost 100,000 but it is more isolated. Because we have two months where the sun does not set, most vegetables and barley can be grown. They are now also experimenting with wheat. The county is about 90% ecological - never has bee anything else. Winters are lon but the climate is dry so it does not feel so cold. Most important for me is that I do not suffer from rheumatism living here. Most of my neighbours are in their late 70's to 90's so we badly need a new generation. A lot of newcomers are from the Netherlands and Germany.

:)It is situated at about 350 metres above sealevel-the hills behind it go up to 750 and within 50 miles there is a glacier where one climbs to 1700 metres.

Dry as in the air humidity is low. We may have up to a meter of snow but the roads are kept clear. I very rarely need a raincoat - feel colder in Yorkshire than I do here. It is hard to explain but sommer showers often do not feel "Wet". Then of course we also had that non-existent summer last year. That was horrific.
