Title: Indian Runner Drakes - free (Berkshire)
Post by: CCW on August 20, 2013, 08:15:46 am
Hi all,

We bred our ducks for the first time this year and out of 10 ducks ended up with 8 drakes!

if anyone can offer a home to any Indian Runner drakes please let me know.  We are near Reading.

Kind regards
Kate

The best of luck with that one Kate. Its bad luck getting eight drakes out of the ten but you can always eat them if the worst come to the worst.

Thank you for the reply - yes, we are prepared for that but thought we would try re-homing first in case anyone is interested.

runner drakes are very very delicious and the feathers sell really well too.

Dumb question possibly but what do you do with feathers?

i either sell them on ebay or facebook. they have always been snapped up for £5 or more for stuffing cushions etc or other crafts. its a shame to just give them away. i had only had vacuumed packed duck breast before the roasted runner drake was just the best - perfect for crispy pancakes  ::)

I'd be interested in one.  I work in Maidenhead but live in Essex.... I've got 4 runner girls to a boy might liven things up a bit.

Hi Kitchen Cottage, that's great.  If you send me a message we can make arrangements.

I can email you pictures and you can choose - I'm off work Tuesday / Wednesday so could meet you somewhere near Maidenhead - or you are welcome to come here and choose.
