Hi
we've just moved from Somerset to Caithness in Scotland and have 10 acres to fill. We are really having problems locating chickens! We've built a lovely big run and a gorgeous hen house but have nothing to fill it and just don't know where to go to buy them. We are in the Berriedale area (nearish to Wick). I've tried a couple of numbers that were advertised, but neither do them anymore. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. There is a wonderful home here for some chooks!

Dingwall has a poultry sale beginning of November if that's of any help.

Thank you - if I haven't found any by then I'll certainly go down to Dingwall! :fc:

I got some from A A McIntyre Poultry who I believe deliver throughout Scotland. Lovely healthy hens, but it was a long wait until they were coming to our area - might be quicker to go to Dingwall.

Hi,
Welcome to Scotland - such a shame you are so far north - we are just north of Dundee. I have Scots Dumpys at 12 weeks and some auracana cross dumpys. If you are travelling down at all over the next few weeks let me know and we could arrange to meet up. I am also considering selling my scots dumpy cockeral - he is proven very fertile. I have just started work so my time is now constrained and I wont be breeding any more at the moment. Kind regards

Thank you so much for your reply. If we have any reason to travel south, I will certainly be in touch - thanks again.
