Whilst trying to sort out my queen cell panic a few weeks back, I called on an experienced beekeeper to help out. He advised me to take the entrance blocks out which was a good call but now I'm wondering when they should go back in? I've noticed there are lots of wasps around and certainly the pollen and nectar must be slowing (didn't make it through a full inspection today as by half way through the second brood box the bees were so mad, I chickened out - for both hives - they followed me all the way back to the house which has never happened before!). So should I reduce the entrance size for defensive purposes now?

We've just put ours back in. The nectar flow seems to have slowed right down and you're right the wasps seem to be back with a vengeance.
