Got home to find one of my other half's hen's looking very off colour. She's hunched, not moving about much, tail down and is straining. She had an egg next to her but When she strains a clear discharge comes out.
Nothing blocker her rear door, nothing obviously wrong with her.
Any ideas? Eaten something? What can we do?

To be honest when a hen tells you she's ill it's often too late. If she laid the egg and it was bigger than normal it may have caused her discomfort. Not a lot you can do really, except make her comfortable and be prepared for her not being there tomorrow. :'(

Agree with Doganjo. settle her in a warm, comfy bed and prepare to see her gone or improved tomorrow.
Was it her egg? If not then the clear fluid could be due to a ruptured egg internally and this more often then not causes peritonitis.
Fingers crossed for her :fc:

Yes it was defo her egg as the others lay a different colour. She is still with us this morning and is looking normal. Will keep a close eye on her

Shes the same again. She eats and drinks but not right! could she be eggbound?
